Possible risks or inconveniences of participant observation include: 


●      Emotional distress caused by recalling negative past experiences. 
●      Recording of private or personal information. 
●      Distractions and delays caused by the presence of the researcher. 
●      Loss of income due to reduced productivity. 
●      Rejection from other drivers due to having been selected/volunteering for the study. 
●      Invasion of privacy. 
●      Legal repercussions: 
○      In case of involvement in illegal activities, researcher will automatically become a witness. 
○      Notes, video and identity information will have to be surrendered to the authorities. 
●      “Right not to now”: Because of the features of gig work, and the unpredictable nature of interactions in public spaces, ODFS workers may be experiencing undiagnosed emotional trauma. In case the observations made in this study identify evidence to this effect, a procedure has been established to adequately manage this information and, if needed, such findings would only be disclosed by a mental health professional.
